Britney Spears does not want to get dragged into Kevin Federline’s circus.
A representative for the “Toxic” singer spoke out about allegations her ex made in his upcoming memoir “You Thought You Knew,” in which he expressed his concern for Spears and fear for their sons, Sean Preston Federline, 20, and Jayden James Federline, 19.
“With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her,” Spears’ rep shared in an Oct. 14 statement to E! News, “and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin.”
The rep added, “All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir.”
Federline — whom the pop star was married to from 2004 to 2007 — wrote in his memoir, out Oct. 21, that “this situation with Britney feels like it’s racing toward something irreversible.”

“From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we’re getting close to the 11th hour,” he writes, per an Oct. 14 excerpt in The New York Times. “Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces.”
He also shared details about when his sons lived with Spears, saying that they told him they did not want to go back to their mother’s house, in part out of fear.
“They would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep — ‘Oh, you’re awake?’ — with a knife in her hand,” he writes. “Then she’d turn around and pad off without explanation.”
The pop star denied reports that Charli XCX and Julia Michaels had been asked to write songs for a new album.
Federline also asked Spears’ fans to support her and their sons, writing, “I’ve been their buffer for years, but now it’s bigger than me. It’s time to sound the alarm.”
And as he told the NYT, it all comes from a place of trying “to help my sons have an incredible relationship with their mother.”
“It’s hard because when I really reflect on everything that’s happened — my kids do not know the woman that I married,” Federline explained. “And I’ve spent two decades trying to bridge that gap.”
As for Spears, the 43-year-old — who reunited with son Jayden in June — previously shared that she has done everything in her power to have a relationship with her sons, writing in her 2023 memoir that she didn’t fight her initial 2008 conservatorship so she could be reunited with her kids.
Britney Spears is sending some special love to her son Jayden James Federline. After reuniting with him for Christmas, the pop superstar shared some snaps on Instagram of her 18-year-old son rocking baggy clothes and taking in what appears to be a sunset. “Mine forever!!! It’s weird we’re like twins but he’s a boy and I’m a girl!!! He’s mine I hadn’t seen him in 2 and half years or maybe 3!!! I’m in shock!!!” she wrote. “He came back and he feels older and smarter than me!!! He’s a man and I cry every day of my life because of the miracle and genius he is!!! When he plays the whole earth shakes!!!” The “Piece of Me” songstress revealed she reunited with her two boys for the first time in years this Christmas and shared a video of her reunion with Jayden on Instagram. The 43-year-old singer shares Jayden and her 19-year-old son Sean Preston with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, whom she divorced in 2007 after three years of marriage.
“My freedom in exchange for naps with my children — it was a trade I was willing to make,” she wrote. “There is nothing I love more — nothing more important to me on this earth — than my children. I’d lay down my life for them.”
