In the latest South Florida real estate hiring news, two top agents are launching a new team –– but keeping it in the family.
Douglas Elliman’s Jaclyn Bild and Sari Shapiro are teaming up to launch the J&S Group, according to a press release. The pair, who are cousins, have closed more than $900 million in career sales, according to the release. Together, they will focus on luxury sales in South Miami, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Miami Beach, Edgewater and North Bay Village. Bild joined Elliman in 2016 and Shapiro joined in 2019 as a new development specialist working on the Mr. C Residences in Coconut Grove.
Avison Young hired Nikki Traff as principal of the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office, according to a press release. She joins the firm from Colliers, where she worked as an executive vice president of retail services for nearly six years, her LinkedIn shows. In her new role, Traff will help to lead Avison Young’s retail services and South Florida expansion efforts, the release shows.
Hotel developer Robert Finvarb and hospitality executive Brian Vujnovic are partnering on a new hospitality management company, MIA Hospitality Management, according to a press release. The Miami-based firm is launching with 939 keys in its portfolio across South Florida, including the Courtyard Miami Coconut Grove, Hyatt Centric South Beach and AC Hotel Miami Brickell, the release shows.
Vujnovic will take the helm as CEO. Finvarb heads his namesake development firm, which owns hotels, marinas, restaurants and retail properties throughout Florida. He is also the developer of the proposed North Beach Town Center mixed-use project in Miami Beach’s North Beach neighborhood, according to his company website.
Weiss Law brought in attorney Carley Perine to its real estate practice group as associate counsel, according to a press release. Perine joins the firm from King & Spalding, where she was in the real estate and funds practice group for a year, according to her LinkedIn. She has experience with complex real estate financing transactions and marks the firm’s latest hire. Earlier this month, Miami-based Weiss Law announced it brought in real estate tax attorney Ben Miller.
