In the latest roundup of South Florida real estate hiring news, Gov. Ron DeSantis reappointed Erin Knight to the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Governors, according to a press release.
Knight is president of Monument Capital Management and division president of A-Rod Corporation, baseball star Alex Rodriguez’s investment firm. She was first appointed by the governor to the Citizens board in 2021, according to published reports.
Miami-based MMG Equity Partners promoted Marcos Puente to partner, according to a press release. Puente joined the firm as director of acquisitions in 2018 and was promoted to principal of acquisitions and development last year, according to his LinkedIn. In his new role, Puente will continue to oversee acquisitions and development, in addition to working on MMG’s investments and portfolio growth, the release shows.
Tika Van Den Hurk’s Tika Team jumped to Compass after seven years with Douglas Elliman, according to a press release. The Fort Lauderdale-based team includes Van Den Hurk, Marcos Guerrero and Dr. Julian Delaney. In the past 10 years, the team has closed more than $500 million in sales, according to the release. They will be based in Compass’ Las Olas office.
Ruben Alvarez and Karla De La Torre are returning to Elliman to join the Eklund-Gomes team and lead sales at 72 Carlyle, Lefferts’ planned 20-story, 134-unit North Beach tower that launched sales this month. Alvarez will be the project’s sales director. Alvarez and De La Torre left Elliman in 2023 to join the sales team for Ian Bruce Eichner’s planned 32-story, 198-unit Continuum Club & Residences in North Bay Village.
