Patrick Mahomes shares details of daughter Golden's perfectly-timed birth

Baby Golden Raye Mahomes certainly set the gold standard when it comes to entering the world efficiently.

Kansas City Chiefs’ star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany welcomed their third child into the world during playoff season. She joined big siblings Sterling Skye, 4, and Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, 2.

“The Kingdom,” a new 6-part ESPN series, documents the Chiefs’ 2024 football season, which happens to coincide with Brittany’s third trimester. It gives viewers a peek into the daily life of the Mahomes family, and in the final episode, Golden makes a brief, sleepy appearance.

“Golden was born on January 12th,” said Patrick in an onscreen interview. “It worked out perfectly. We got the bye week, which Brittany had told me we needed to get from before the season.”

Clearly proud of his family, Patrick continued, “Brittany crushed it. I was watching playoff games the entire day. She went into labor after one game. Baby was here before the next game. So I didn’t even miss a playoff game.”

He added, “She is as locked in as I am as far as football goes.”

Brittany similarly seemed enthusiastic about Patrick’s role in their family. In a separate onscreen interview, she said, “When he’s not on in football, he’s locked in on being a dad, and being the best dad he can be.”

The new mom rallied and attended Patrick’s next playoff game on Jan. 19 when she was just six days postpartum.

Though the Chiefs ultimately lost the 2025 Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles, Patrick seemed to genuinely appreciate having his family cheer him on.

“It’s been really cool to see my family grow up watching me play football, and I want them to be a part of all those moments,” he said. “And I want to be a part of all their moments as well.”
