Publishing heiress Cynthia Sulzberger and her husband, Steven Green, dropped $7.9 million on a condo in the newly completed Forté on Flagler tower in West Palm Beach.
Records show the couple bought unit 1402 in the 25-story, 40-unit tower at 1309 South Flagler Drive from an affiliate of the developers, Two Roads Development and Alpha Blue Ventures.
Green is a managing partner with Ordinance Capital, a wealth management firm.
Sulzberger is the daughter of Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, the late publisher of the New York Times. Her family has held controlling ownership of the newspaper since her great-grandfather Adolph S. Ochs bought it in 1896. Her brother, Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, Jr., was the publisher from 1992 to 2018, when he appointed his son A.G. Sulzberger to the position. He holds it to this day.
Cynthia Sulzberger is a longtime resident of Palm Beach County. She is an equestrian and competes in Wellington’s Winter Equestrian Festival. She and her husband bought a home in Wellington for $2.9 million in 2021, according to property records.
Records have yet to update with specifics of their unit at Forté, but the tower has two units per floor that each have three or four bedrooms and span 4,200 square feet. The design team included Arquitectonica and interior designer Jean-Louis Deniot, and amenities include a pool, fitness center, spa facilities, guest suites, private dining room, a library and business center.
West Palm Beach-based Two Roads, led by co-managing partners Reid Boren and Taylor Collins, and Marius Fortelni and Scott Maslin’s Alpha Blue received the condo declaration earlier this summer, and closings started in July. So far 19 deeds have been recorded for sales in the project. A total of 37 units pre-sold for a combined sales volume of $289.1 million.
Records show the other buyers in the building include Fox News contributor Liz Peek; former president and CEO of Sotheby’s Holdings Michael Ainslie; and hedge funder Ara Cohen, who also bought a $51.6 million lakefront home in Palm Beach last year.
Three units remain to be sold in the tower. Christian Angle with Christian Angle Real Estate has the $47.5 million listing for the 9,000-square-foot penthouse. John Reynolds with Douglas Elliman and Gary Pohrer with Serhant are co-listing the two other units for sale, which are asking $14.7 million and $15.3 million.
