Movers & Shakers: Elliman hires general counsel in Miami

Douglas Elliman hired attorney Bradley Brodie as its general counsel in Miami, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing. He joins the brokerage from Sidley Austin, a top-ranked firm where he worked as counsel for two years, LinkedIn indicates. His previous experience includes stints at DLA Piper, and working in-house at pet brand Chewy and investment firm Ladenburg Thalmann. He started his career as an associate at Skadden.

In other real estate law news, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman brought in attorneys Nellie Camerik and Pejman Razavilar to join its real estate practice in both Miami and New York, a news release shows. The pair joins from Weil, Gotshal & Manges. Camerik and Razavila advised a range of clients on real estate transactions and both played a role in the real estate component of Lehman Brothers’ $600 billion bankruptcy, according to the release.

Construction and development giant Skanska promoted Frank Longo to vice president and account manager in Florida, according to a release. Longo has been with the company for 20 years, most recently as a vice president and project executive, the release shows. In his new role, he will focus on growing the company’s project pipeline in South Florida. He will also play a key part in managing ongoing construction projects for Jackson Health, Broward Health and Florida International University, the release notes.

Franklin Street, a Tampa-based commercial real estate services firm, hired Rafael Romero as regional managing director in Miami, per a press release. He joins Franklin Street from JLL, where he was a senior vice president for seven years. In addition to his work with retail leasing, Romero will head recruiting for the firm in Miami, the release indicates.
