Beyoncé is halfway to EGOT with Emmy win

Beyoncé might just be shedding some alligator tears of joy.

Why? Well, the “16 Carriages” singer earned her first-ever Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Programming for her “Beyoncé Bowl” Netflix special — bringing the 35-time Grammy winner one step closer to EGOT status.

The 43-year-old — who is mom to daughter Blue Ivy, 13, and twins Sir and Rumi, 8, with husband Jay-Z — won the Emmy alongside her fellow costume designer Shiona Turini, assistant costume designers Erica Rice and Molly Peters, costume supervisor Chelsea Staebell and head of workroom Timothy White.

The trophy — whose winner was selected by a jury of peers, instead of through the traditional nomination and voting route — will be presented during the Emmys’ Creative Arts Awards ceremony on Sept. 7, one week before the 2025 Primetime Emmys.

Beyoncé is also nominated for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special and Outstanding Variety Special, whose winners will be announced at the Sept. 7 and Sept. 14 Emmys ceremonies, respectively. “Beyoncé Bowl” — which featured performances with Post Malone and Shaboozey — is nominated for a total of four Emmy Awards.

Beyoncé’s final Cowboy Carter tour stop was one fans will never forget. On Saturday, July 26, the pop star brought out Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for a surprise Destiny’s Child reunion at her Las Vegas finale show.

Following the Christmas Day special, the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer’s fellow Emmy winner, designer Shiona Turini, reflected on her experience working on the show’s fashion.

“Forever grateful to be a part of this iconic performance,” Turini wrote in a December Instagram post, “this historic moment and this incredible team.”

“A visual love letter + a reclamation of space,” she wrote in a separate post. “27 million viewers and counting to witness over 400 carefully curated costumes – from cowboys to cheerleaders, dancers and drivers, the Blackbiirds to band. We did it.”
