HBO’s “Harry Potter” series has started production in the U.K., and the studio celebrated the occasion by offering a first glimpse at the new actor playing the titular wizard.
Child actor Dominic McLaughlin is taking up Daniel Radcliffe’s old mantle as Harry, and a first look shows him in the character’s signature robe and glasses.
McLaughlin officially joined the cast in May alongside two fellow castmates in Arabella Stanton, who will play Hermione, and Alastair Stout, who will play Ron.

“The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen,” showrunner and executive producer Francesca Gardiner and executive producer Mark Mylod said following the casting announcement.
Other members of the cast include John Lithgow as Professor Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall and Nick Frost as Hagrid.
The series, which is set to premiere in 2027, will be a new adaptation of the hit book series from J.K. Rowling, who is serving as an executive producer on the show. The books spawned eight “Harry Potter” movies, the last of which premiered in 2011.
“You’re old now! What happened?!” Kelly Clarkson shares a story about the time she broke the fourth wall for her kids when they heard her voice coming out of an animated character in a movie, and Daniel Radcliffe shares he blows kids’ minds on a regular basis when they see “old” Harry Potter walking around.
