After growing up in Hollywood, Jamie Lee Curtis has no problem leaving the industry behind.

In fact, the Oscar winner — the daughter of the late Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh — revealed she’s been “self-retiring for 30 years,” only choosing roles that truly pique her interest.

“I have been prepping to get out, so that I don’t have to suffer the same as my family did,” Jamie Lee explained to The Guardian in an interview published July 26. “I want to leave the party before I’m no longer invited.”

She continued, “I witnessed my parents lose the very thing that gave them their fame and their life and their livelihood, when the industry rejected them at a certain age. I watched them reach incredible success and then have it slowly erode to where it was gone. And that’s very painful.”

Now 66, Curtis considers herself to be an “old lady,” joking to the outlet, “I’m going to die soon.”

And that’s why the “Freakier Friday” star quipped that she’s “become quite brusque” these days when it comes setting boundaries about her work schedule.

“I don’t give a s— any more,” Curtis said, adding that she also has “no problem saying, ‘Back the f— off.’”

Likewise, she has the same approach when it comes to beauty standards.

“There are many, many actresses who love the dress up, who love clothes, who love fashion, who love being a model. I. Hate. It,” emphasized Curtis, who has been vocal about her regret to get plastic surgery during her 20s. “The concept that you can alter the way you look through chemicals, surgical procedures, fillers — there’s a disfigurement of generations of predominantly women who are altering their appearances.”

But that’s not to say she’s against other women who choose to go under the knife. As she put it, “I’m not proselytizing to them. I would never say a word. I would never say to someone: what have you done?”

“All I know is that it is a never-ending cycle,” Curtis added. “Once you start, you can’t stop. But it’s not my job to give my opinion; it’s none of my business.”
