The elaborate waterfront home of French national Aurélie Bard, who has been accused of embezzling more than 100 million euros, sold out of receivership for $18.5 million, The Real Deal has learned.
Receiver Michael Dunn sold the 6,924-square-foot, five-bedroom and six-bathroom house at 6580 Allison Road to a company managed by attorney Charles Ratner, court filings show. The 0.4-acre property is on Allison Island in Miami Beach. It has 75 feet of water frontage, a pool and dock.
Enzo Rosani of Barnes International Realty represented the seller, and Douglas Elliman’s Dina Goldentayer brought the buyer. Rosani declined to comment.
The home belonged to Bard, who allegedly attempted to launder proceeds of her scheme through the purchase of that property and other real estate, according to the lawsuit filed by Kiabi Worldwide Treasury, a French clothing brand. Bard was arrested in France in August, according to court filings and published reports.
Bard’s shell company paid nearly $17 million for the house in October 2023, records show. Paul Bensabat, owner, president and CEO of Saveur Food Group, and his wife Sandrine sold the property nearly two years ago. Bensabat was previously president of Manischewitz Company, one of the largest kosher food distributors in North America.
Kiabi alleges that Bard “absconded to Miami, where she enjoyed the high life” after perpetrating a scheme with her co-conspirators to steal money from the company via forged documents and fake email accounts, according to the complaint.
The lawsuit alleges that after she purchased the Allison Island home, she spent about $3 million on luxury furniture and artwork for the property, using the home to showcase her interior design business.
Bard also allegedly used the funds to purchase a waterfront condo in Aventura and about $1.2 million in pricey furnishings. The condo, a penthouse at Artech at 2950 Northeast 188th Street, is on the market for $980,000 with Barnes’ Sonia Desrois.
Deadline reported in March that Screenline Productions, StudioFact Stories and the newspaper Le Parisien will develop a TV series about Bard.
Earlier this year, Karlton Companies sold a waterfront spec mansion on Allison Island for $31.5 million, a record for the gated island.
