Retirement is treating Joe Pavelski well.
The former San Jose Sharks and Dallas Stars forward won the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe after three standout rounds.
Pavelski played 18 NHL seasons, 13 with San Jose and five with Dallas, before retiring after the 2023-24 season. The 41-year-old from Wisconsin finished second in the ACC in 2022 and 2024 before finally breaking through this summer.
Pavelski scored 73 points in the tournament, with a 2-under 70 on Friday, par 72 on Saturday and 4-under 68 on Sunday. He put an exclamation point on the weekend with a long eagle putt on the final hole to clinch the win.
Retired MLB pitcher John Smoltz was second with 64 points, followed by country music singer Jake Owen in third with 62 points.
Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry, who won this tournament last time he played in 2023, finished fifth. He was in position to challenge Pavelski before a disastrous double bogey on the final hole.
