Pete Davidson is gushing about becoming a dad in his first interview since he and his model girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, announced they are expecting a child together.
On July 16, the happy couple shared the pregnancy news on Instagram when Hewitt uploaded a slideshow of photos and videos to the social media platform, including one clip of her visit to the hospital for an ultrasound. She also posted sweet photos of her and Davidson, 31, embracing.
“Welp now everyone knows we had sex,” she joked in the caption.
About a week later, Davidson stopped by “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and opened up about why he is looking forward to becoming a father.
At the start of the interview in the July 22 episode, host Jimmy Fallon welcomed “The Home” star back to the show by mentioning his baby news.

As the crowd applauded, Davidson cheered, “I did it!” He also gave two thumbs up and did a little dance.
“Anybody who knows me (knows) it’s my dream to be a dad, so I’m so excited. Elsie’s excited,” he shared.
Davidson added, “I’m excited, you know, to see her be a mom, so we’re stoked.”
Fallon predicted the “Saturday Night Live” alum will be a great dad and said that he has seen firsthand how nurturing Davidson is around children.
“Thanks man. It’s the best. Everything else doesn’t really matter anymore. It’s nice,” Davidson replied.
The talk show host, who is a proud father of two daughters, agreed. “It really is,” Fallon said. “You go, ‘Oh, this is why I’m doing all of this. It’s just to take care of these people.’”
Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt are turning up the heat on their romance this summer.
Davidson has spoken about his dream of starting a family in other interviews, too.
On an episode of Kevin Hart’s “Hart to Heart” Peacock series in 2022, he emphasized his family-oriented mindset. Davidson told the host, “(I’m) definitely a family guy. My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, is I want to have a kid.”
He then called becoming a dad his “dream.”
“That’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now, is trying to be as good as a dude and develop and get better, so when that happens, it’s just easier,” he continued.
Rumors about Davidson and Hewitt’s romance first surfaced in March when they were photographed swimming together at a beach, People reported at the time.
A few months later, the pair made their red carpet debut in May at the 13th annual Blossom Ball, which raises money for endometriosis research and education, in New York City.
