Movers & Shakers: Moss names chief legal officer


In the latest South Florida real estate hiring news, firms are bulking up their legal leadership. 

Fort Lauderdale-based construction firm Moss named Kim Henderson as its chief legal officer, according to a press release. Henderson joined the firm in 2017 as vice president and deputy general counsel. She was promoted to senior vice president and general counsel last year, according to LinkedIn. She was previously an attorney with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney for three years. 

The Palm Beach-based law firm Jones Foster brought in James H. Ryan as senior counsel for its real estate practice group in Jupiter, a press release shows. Before joining the firm, he was sole shareholder and president of Gary, Dytrych & Ryan in North Palm Beach, where he worked for more than 50 years, according to LinkedIn.

In Boca Raton, the Korman Group joined Compass, a press release shows. Led by Michael Korman, the 40-agent team has closed more than $400 million in sales since 2019, the release shows. The team will be based at Compass’ Boca Raton office, as well as at the brokerage’s offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach and Jupiter.

Beau Monde Builders, led by founder and CEO AJ Hoover, expanded to Palm Beach with a Worth Avenue office, according to a press release. Beau Monde specializes in custom homebuilding and renovations, and has been based in Rockledge, Florida, its website shows. 

Elsewhere in Florida, Douglas Elliman named Andrew Greenwell as managing broker of its Sarasota office, according to a press release. Greenwell, who previously founded Venture Sotheby’s International Realty in Pleasanton, California, is joining the firm with his partner Nikki Taylor. Greenwell led Venture Sotheby’s for more than a decade before he departed in June, according to LinkedIn. 

Perkins&Will brought in Amanda Hertzler as co-principal of corporate interiors in its Miami office, a press release shows. Hertzler previously spent 12 years with MKDA, a corporate planning and interior design firm, where she worked most recently as a regional managing principal, LinkedIn shows. 

Promenade at Coconut Creek hired Nick Barrett as general manager, according to a press release. Barrett will oversee all management, maintenance and financial operations for the retail center in his new role. AEW Capital Management bought the shopping center for $85.5 million in 2016, and today its tenants include Sephora, Carrot Express, Starbucks and European Wax Center.
