Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson have found each other outside of Capeside.
The pair of “Dawson’s Creek” alums reunited in New York City on July 21 while on the set of an untitled new project that the former is also directing.
For the outing, Holmes — who shares daughter Suri, 19, with ex Tom Cruise — sported a salmon-colored, plaid flannel draped over a gray tank top and navy slacks. In the scene being filmed on a New York City sidewalk, she smiled as she stood next to Jackson, who donned a sage green jacket and blue jeans.
The new project will mark the first time the duo have acted together since “Dawson’s Creek” — which also starred James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams and Busy Philipps — ended in 2003. Despite their lack of shared appearances on screen, though, Jackson recently emphasized the strong bond he has with Holmes.
“Katie and I are very close,” he said on Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s “Dinner’s on Me” podcast in April. “Busy and Michelle are very, very close.”
Joshua Jackson is starring as a hotshot doctor in the sexy new Ryan Murphy drama “Doctor Odyssey.” At the show’s premiere, he spoke to Access Hollywood about what fans can expect from the buzzy series. He also broke down the viral moment where he presented at the 2024 Emmy Awards and was welcomed onstage with the theme song to “Dawson’s Creek,” the ’90s show that gave him his start.

He also detailed how often the cast from the WB show stay in touch, adding, “It’s not a daily call. Sometimes it’s not a weekly or monthly or even a half-yearly call, but when you’re together — there’s always that, ‘I know, you know.’”
In addition to the natural bond Jackson — who shares daughter Juno, 5, with ex Jodie Turner-Smith — maintains with his former costars, he explained how they all came together to support Van Der Beek after he revealed his colorectal cancer diagnosis in November.
“James is going through something really truly terrible right now,” Jackson continued. “And I wish I could take credit for this, but I was kind of the absentee partner here, but the girls all got together and were like, ‘We need to do something to help this guy out.’”
As for if the girls — and the guys — plan to eventually get together for a larger “Dawson’s Creek” reunion? It seems like there has been some effort put into making that a reality.
“We’re really trying to figure something out, but there are a couple of people who have some work things that cannot be moved,” Philipps told US Weekly in March. “It’s like playing chess, trying to get everybody’s schedules to align. I’m very hopeful that at some point we will.”
However, that reunion may not be in the form of a reboot, as Holmes told Screen Rant in 2022 of that possibility, “It’s like, ‘Do we want to see them not at that age?’ We all decided we don’t actually.”
