Chad Michael Murray says his entire family got to decide whether he and wife Sarah Roemer should have a third child.
“We took a family vote, actually,” the former “One Tree Hill” star, 43, told Parade. “We weren’t going to have a third child unless everyone was on board, including the kids. And our son wasn’t on board for pretty much the entire time until finally, one day, he goes, ‘I’d like to have a baby in the family.'”
“And we’re like, ‘Wow, look at that!’” added the actor.
The couple’s son, who was shortly after Murray and Roemer tied the knot in 2015, now does “the best” with their younger daughter, who was born in 2023. The couple also shared a daughter, who was born in 2017.
“He’s so good all the time with her, and they love each other so much. So that is their norm,” boasted the proud dad.
Murray, who stars alongside Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis in the upcoming “Freakier Friday” movie — a sequel to their 2003 comedy “Freaky Friday” — spoke to Parade while dressed in a white tank top and pink pants. He kept his long blond hair tied up in a matching pink hair tie.
“I have two little baby girls, so I’m always wearing pink. I can’t help it. … (It) puts me in a good mood. I love it. And the girls like it. So now we can match,” he explained.
During the interview, Murray also opened up his own “superhero” dad, Rex Murray, who raised him and his four siblings as a single father.
“I wouldn’t have the life and the kids I have right now if it weren’t for my dad. He gave us the opportunity to have a chance in life, to go get a job, to live out our dreams, and I’m so grateful for that,” said Murray. “He’s just got such a big selfless heart.”
The elder Murray, now 71, continues to be an inspiration to his famous son.
The actor told Parade that his dad came to check on his family earlier this year when the Los Angeles wildfires were burning closer and closer to their home.
“He just popped in out of the blue, and he sat down, and he poured a bourbon … we sat and he said, ‘I thought you could use some company,’” the younger Murray recalled, adding, “I want to be that for the kids. I want to always be that loving, nurturing parent.”
The “Parent Trap” star revealed if Chad Michael Murray will be in the upcoming “Freaky Friday” sequel and dished on who she wants to write a song for the film.
