Engel & Völkers is expanding in Miami-Dade County.
The brokerage is opening an office in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood and planning to reopen in Coconut Grove later this year, according to a press release. The offices will be led by license partners Daniel Nault and Vanessa Gomez, who joined the brokerage in 2023, LinkedIn shows. The South of Fifth office will be at 101 Ocean Drive, Suite 101.
In 2023, Nault converted his firm, Edgewater One Real Estate, into Engel & Völkers Miami and acquired the rights for the Miami Beach market. The partners also secured franchise rights for the Coconut Grove market, according to the release. A new address in Coconut Grove has not been disclosed.
Magnus Jennemyr, who was the license partner from 2020 to 2024, is now an adviser for the Islamorada office in the Florida Keys, the release shows. Stephany Duvall bought the Engel & Völkers Islamorada franchise for an undisclosed amount last year.
The brokerage previously tried to expand into Coconut Grove, under the leadership of Jennemyr in 2020. Top agent Lourdes Alatriste left the firm for Douglas Elliman later that year, taking more than $200 million in listings with her. She ranked among The Real Deal’s top agents in Miami-Dade County for 2024, with $116.9 million in on-market sales.
Engel & Völkers Miami is currently based at its office at DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay at 1717 North Bayshore Drive in Miami, according to its website.
With a booming market, Miami-Dade County has attracted heavy investment from residential brokerage firms in recent years. Star agent Ryan Serhant’s namesake brokerage expanded to Miami in 2023, and has since added offices in Delray Beach, Palm Beach and Jupiter.
Other brokerages have focused on growth further north, in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Firms like Edgardo Defortuna’s Fortune Christie’s International Real Estate expanded to Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton. Compass opened offices in Palm Beach Gardens and Weston, and expanded in Palm Beach. Douglas Elliman has also added two offices in Weston.
