The Devil Wears Prada 2” may have moved at a glacial pace, but it was well worth the wait.

Two decades after Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway and Stanley Tucci proved everybody wanted to be them in “The Devil Wears Prada,” the cast has returned to begin production on its sequel.

20th Century Studios announced the news — which is definitely more groundbreaking than florals for spring — on Instagram June 30, accompanied by a clip showing off two devilish red heels as iconic quotes from the 2006 movie played.

The sequel, set to premiere in May 2026, will follow Miranda Priestly (Streep) as she struggles with the decline of traditional magazine publishing. Meanwhile, she’s also facing off with her former assistant Emily Charlton (Blunt), who is now a high-powered executive at a luxury advertising company.

While the movie will have some familiar faces, fans can also expect newcomers who have sold their souls to the devil with their first pair of Jimmy Choos. Take, for instance, Kenneth Branagh, who will join the cast as Miranda’s husband.

And while the fate of Andy (Hathaway) hasn’t been revealed just yet, the actress sees her character in the City of Love.

“I think that she is writing for a wonderful French women’s magazine,” Hathaway previously told E! News in 2022. “I think she’s a staff writer and she speaks French fluently. I don’t think she’s married, but she might have a child or two. I think she’s pretty fab.”

Gird your loins because Blunt has a similar fantasy for her character.

“I just hope she’s eating a nice French dip sandwich somewhere and she’s just happy,” she mused to E! last year. “Not a cube of cheese. I hope she’s sort of transitioned into a proper sandwich at this point.”
