West Elm | Wynwood | Miami 

West Elm will open at the Dorsey mixed-use building in Miami’s Wynwood

The furnishings brand leased more than 12,000 square feet at the 12-story building at 286 Northwest 29th Street, according to the landlords’ news release. 

The store is expected to open in the second quarter of next year, according to broker Michael Sullivan. West Elm recently closed its store in Midtown Miami.

Sullivan and Sam Singer were part of the Vertical Real Estate team that represented the landlords. Sara Wolfe of Wolfe Town represented West Elm. 

The Pérez family’s Related Group and its partners completed the 306-unit Dorsey apartment building with 33,000 square feet of retail and 78,000 square feet of offices in 2022, according to the release and records. 

Coconut Grove-based Related developed the project with Alex Karakhanian’s Lndmrk Development and Ben Mandell’s Tricera Capital. 

Miami-based Torose Equities, led by Scott Sherman, now has a stake in the building, while Brickell-based Tricera no longer has a stake in Dorsey, according to Sherman. 

Sushi Sake | Weston 

Sushi Sake is expanding in South Florida. 

Sushi Sake franchisee Marin Hospitality, led by Steven Michael Marin, leased 3,500 square feet plus outdoor space at 308 Indian Trace in Weston, according to the tenant’s broker, Sam Singer of Vertical Real Estate. The sushi restaurant is expected to open in the second quarter of next year. 

Sabrina Stimming and Steven Henenfeld of Colliers represented the landlord. 

Records show Los Angeles-based American Realty Advisors owns the Weston shopping plaza. 

LB Eatery & Wine by Paula Marsola | Pembroke Pines 

Baker, sommelier and restaurateur Paula Marsola expanded her offerings at Pembroke Gardens retail center in Pembroke Pines

Her restaurant LB Eatery & Wine by Paula Marsola, where offerings are based on natural fermentation and seasonal ingredients, opened in a 1,600-square-foot space this month, according to a Pembroke Gardens news release. The shopping center is at 527 Southwest 145th Terrace. 

The restaurant is next to Marsola’s Lady Baker that offers handcrafted bread, pastries and other baked goods. The spaces are connected. 

The deal comes amid a flurry of leases at Pembroke Gardens. In April, The Container Store opened in a 15,000-square-foot space and Anthropologie opened an 8,100-square-foot store, according to Pembroke Gardens’ spokesperson. 

Next on tap are Aerie, which leased 4,500 square feet; cosmetics store Bluemercury, which leased 2,500 square feet; and Crema Gourmet, which leased nearly 2,00 square feet, according to the spokesperson. The three tenants are expected to open this summer. 

North Bethesda, Maryland-based Federal Realty Investment Trust owns Pembroke Gardens, according to records. 

Midway Sports | Miami 

An athletic gear store will open at River Landing Shops & Residences in Miami. 

Midway Sports will open in a 5,800-square-foot space in the fall, according to a River Landing news release. 

Led by President Mike Tosar, Midway Sports was founded in 1975 in Miami. It carries brands such as Nike, Jordan and Under Armour, the release says.  

Coral Gables-based Urban-X Group, led by Andrew Hellinger and Coralee Penabad, completed the 2.2 million-square-foot River Landing in 2020 on an 8.1-acre site at 1400 Northwest North River Drive in the Miami River District

The project consists of more than 500 apartments, 345,000 square feet of retail, 135,000 square feet of offices and a riverfront promenade. 

Garden Butcher | West Palm Beach 

A Boca Raton grocer and organic food store will open in downtown West Palm Beach at the Shoppes on Gardenia. 

Garden Butcher, founded by Erin Leeds, leased 2,400 square feet at 501 South Olive Avenue, according to a news release from The Shoppes on Gardenia. The grocery store is expected to open late summer or early fall. 

The building is part of Eric Cohen’s EBC Capital’s downtown West Palm portfolio. Last year, the firm paid $5.6 million for the properties at 501 South Olive Avenue and 303 Gardenia Street, where The Shoppes on Gardenia opened, according to records and the news release. New York-based EBC has been working on an adaptive reuse of the properties. 

Garden Butcher’s other outpost is at 690 Yamato Road in Boca Raton, its website shows. 

MG Developer, Home Financing Center | Coral Gables 

Real estate firm MG Developer will move its headquarters, but stay in Coral Gables

Led by Alirio Torrealba, MG Developed leased 7,200 square feet at 400 University Drive, according to a news release from the landlord’s broker. The firm, now based at 301 Almeria Avenue in Coral Gables, is expected to move in October. 

Also, independently owned and operated mortgage bankers Home Financing Center renewed its 3,500-square-foot lease at 400 University Drive, according to the release. The firm, founded and led by the Claus family, will move within the building. 

Donna Abood and Joe Abood were part of the Savills team that represented the landlord. Andres del Corral and Jack Davidson of Blanca Commercial Real Estate represented MG Developer, and Colleen Newcomer CBN represented Home Financing Center. 

Zeke Guilford, through an affiliate, owns the four-story building, according to the release.

Square Peg Pizzeria | Delray Beach 

Connecticut pizza shop Square Peg Piezzeria opened its first Florida outpost in Delray Beach

The restaurant leased space at 4957 West Atlantic Avenue, according to the tenant’s news release. The square footage wasn’t immediately provided. 

Square Peg, founded in 2019 in Glastonbury, Connecticut, has all of its other outposts in that state, according to the release and its website. 

Records show Jacksonville-based Sleiman Enterprises owns the Delray Beach building.
