Douglas Elliman exec Susan de França buys Boca Raton condo


Douglas Elliman executive Susan de França liked an Elliman development so much, she bought a unit there. 

Property records show de França, president and CEO of Elliman Development Marketing, paid $6.5 million for a condo at Alina Residences, a luxury project at 200 Southeast Mizner Boulevard in Boca Raton. She bought a unit at Alina 220, a 152-unit building that marks the third and final phase of the development. She financed the purchase with a $5 million mortgage from J.P. Morgan. 

Elliman has been leading sales and marketing of the three-building development. The developer, Boca Raton-based El-Ad National Properties, sold the condo. The deed was recorded last week. 

Her unit spans 4,265 square feet with an 895-square-foot terrace, and includes three bedrooms and a den, according to marketing materials. 

All three nine-story buildings have been completed. Alina 200 was completed in 2021; Alina 210 was completed last summer, and Alina 220 received its temporary certificate of occupancy in January, according to a press release about the project. 

The complex’s 303 units range from 1,400 square feet to more than 5,400 square feet. Amenities include two rooftop pools, yoga spaces, a dog park, fitness centers, a spa and a sports simulator. Architect Peter Stromberg of West Palm Beach-based Garcia Stromberg/GS4 Studios designed the project. 

El-Ad, which is part of the New York-based Elad Group, launched sales of the first building in 2018. 

De França has been with Elliman for nearly 14 years. In an interview with The Real Deal in 2023, she said that Miami was her No. 2 city after New York. 

“Miami continues to obviously develop in terms of the culture, the restaurants, the scene, the clubs, like Faena Rose,” she said. “There’s just such a sophistication that is being amplified. That’s very exciting to see.”

Though Miami has long held the spotlight for developers in South Florida, cities like Boca Raton have also seen major growth in recent years, including a pipeline of luxury condo development and residential sales that have set records.

Earlier this year, BDT & MSD Partners filed plans for a 60-unit condo at the 337-acre Boca Raton Resort & Club.
