Strong wind gusts from Friday’s storms caused damage across East Pembroke Pines, including lifting a small plane at North Perry Airport, authorities said.
The force of the wind damaged the aircraft and led to a brief fuel leak. Emergency crews responded quickly and no injuries were reported.
Elsewhere, police said several power lines were knocked down between Palm Avenue and Northwest 72nd Avenue near Pines Boulevard.
Some homes in the area may be without power temporarily.
At least one large tree had toppled over in a residential area.
This developing story will be updated as soon as more details become available.
