One Sotheby’s hires former Douglas Elliman marketing exec

One Sotheby’s International Realty hired Robin Schmid as its vice president of marketing, The Real Deal has learned.

Schmid spent nine years at Douglas Elliman before joining Miami-based One Sotheby’s last month. She will head brand strategy and agent marketing at the brokerage, led by Mayi and Daniel de la Vega. Schmid will also focus on partnerships and event marketing and lead a team of 25 people, according to a press release.

Schmid is working on the resale brokerage side of the business to give One Sotheby’s clients and their agents print, digital and event marketing materials. The company just launched the Rechat tech platform that automates part of the process, she said.

Schmid was associate vice president of marketing at Elliman, where she was involved in establishing partnerships, the brokerage’s sports and entertainment division and marketing for more than 1,600 agents.

One Sotheby’s has been expanding throughout Florida in recent years, like a handful of other brokerages. The company recently acquired the 25-agent firm called Premier Realty Group in Martin County.

Schmid, who is based in West Palm Beach, will work out of One Sotheby’s Palm Beach Gardens office. She said the move is “a little bit like a full circle moment” as she started her career at Coastal Sotheby’s International Realty, where she was director of marketing.

She said she wasn’t looking to leave Elliman, but the opportunity to join One Sotheby’s made her start to reflect on her career.

A handful of top agents have left Elliman in recent months, including Miltiadis Kastanis and Pablo Alfaro, as well as some executive-level employees. Nury Enamorado, a senior vice president of operations at Douglas Elliman, left the brokerage earlier this year, after more than nine years, to join Holland Public Relations.

Elliman has also made some hires, tapping Kellen Porter, a San Diego brokerage executive, to join as chief operating officer. It also brought back Nikol Solares as executive vice president of sales and strategy at Elliman, following a four-month stint at Compass.
