An investigation is underway in what appears to be a shooting in Pompano Beach.
It happened at an apartment complex at NW 33 Street and NE 1 Avenue
Neighbors said Broward Sheriff’s investigators blocked off the complex on Thursday around 8:30 p.m.
While the sheriff’s ofice has not given details on their investigation, one unit had a shattered window and bullet holes in a wall near its front door. In the kitchen area, there appeared to be blood and a knife on the floor, according to CBS Miami’s Morgan Rynor.
Someone who lives in the comlex said he heard 10 to 15 gunshots Thursday night. Another unit in the complex also had bullet holes in the wall and a shattered window.
Neighbors were surprised.
“It’s pretty cool. It’s a safe area. Since I’ve been here there haven’t been any incidents, no gunshots. I’m surprised by that,” neighbor Conrad Trenchfield said.
The sheriff’s office has not said if anyone was injured.
