Man fatally shot near Southwest Miami-Dade canal, authorities say

A ShotSpotter alert helped guide officers to the scene, where they discovered 35-year-old Gregory Trevon Norman lying on the ground with a gunshot wound, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
