A child was hospitalized after they were shot while walking down the street in Lauderhill on Saturday night, police said.
Just after 9:30 p.m., Lauderhill Police responded to a reported shooting near 5500 NW 27th Ct., where they found the juvenile suffering from gunshot wounds. Fire rescue personnel then took the child to the Broward Health Medical Center for treatment.
The child’s condition or the severity of their injuries is unknown at this time.
According to Lauderhill Police, the preliminary investigation revealed that the child was walking down the street near NW 55th Ave. and 25th Ct. when the shooting happened. The juvenile then ran to the area where the officers were called.
