In the latest roundup of South Florida real estate hiring news, a South Beach club scene icon is getting in the real estate game.
Douglas Elliman is bringing in some new blood to its South Florida offices, according to a press release. Tommy Puccio, better known as Tommy Pooch, was the co-founder of Nikki Beach, the iconic beach club described in its heyday as “South Beach’s sandy version of, say, the Playboy Mansion minus the grottos but full of models and old men who love them,” by the Miami Herald. He will be based in Elliman’s MiMo District office, the release shows.
In 2023, the Boucher Brothers and Major Food Group won the bid to take over the Nikki Beach site when its lease expires in 2026.
Barbie Estela is leaving One Sotheby’s International Realty to join Elliman’s Coral Gables office and work on sales for Cora, a 13-story, 74-unit wellness-focused condo project that Constellation Group and Boschetti Group launched in Coral Gables last month.
The move coincides with longtime Elliman agent Pablo Alfaro, who has closed $1 billion in career sales volume, departing for Compass.
Miami-based real estate law firm Shubin Law promoted two attorneys, Denise Haire and Jamie Katz, to partners in the practice, a press release shows. Prior to joining Shubin, Haire served as assistant city attorney for West Palm Beach and as land use and development counsel with the Euclid Group, according to LinkedIn. She has been with Shubin for two years. Katz has been with Shubin for almost four years, and was previously an associate attorney with Young Berman Karpf Gonzalez in Fort Lauderdale, LinkedIn shows.
In West Palm Beach, Shannon Bona left her position as a first vice president with Graystone Capital Advisors to launch CrownPoint Partners with Newport Beach-based Julius Swolsky and Don Bingham, according to a press release. The commercial brokerage has a national focus and $75 million worth of listings in Florida, the release shows.
Miami-based commercial brokerage Apex Capital Realty is launching an insurance division, according to a release. Apex Capital Insurance will provide commercial property, commercial umbrella, professional liability, and wind, hazard and flood insurance, the release shows.
