Call Me Gaby | Miami
Call Me Gaby, the Italian restaurant in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood, will expand to the Miami River.
Call Me Gaby owners Cathy and Anthony Arrighi, in partnership with restaurateur Roman Jones, will open the restaurant in a two-story, 8,500-square-foot building at 5 Southwest South River Drive in Miami, according to a news release from Call Me Gaby and Jones. The outpost is expected to open next year.
Records show the currently vacant site is owned by an entity managed by Brickell-based attorney Arturo Ortega. Ortega is developing the Call Me Gaby building. The tenants leased the site under a 25-year term.
Jones’ restaurants include Kiki on The River, Habibi, and Casablanca Seafood.
Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, Face. Brow & Beauty Bar, more | Miami
Brightline’s MiamiCentral station scored six new tenants.
Rosetta Bakery opened in a 621-square-foot space and AT&T opened in a 1,500-square-foot space at the mixed-use complex at Northwest First Avenue between Northwest Third and Seventh streets, in downtown Miami, according to a MiamiCentral news release.
Next on tap by month’s end is Brooklyn Dumpling Shop’s 741-square-foot store, marking the restaurant’s first Florida outpost, according to a Brightline news release. Brooklyn Dumplin Shop’s menu includes Wagyu beef potstickers, rib-eye dumplings and Korean barbecue. The Miami outpost also will have Cuban sandwich dumplings.
Other tenants opening this year are Face. Brow & Beauty Bar, which leased 2,000 square feet; The Green Chicken Miami restaurant, which leased 2,400 square feet; and Verizon, which leased 1,500 square feet, according to the release.
Michael Silverman and Jeff Evans of Comras Company represented MiamiCentral.
In 2018, Miami-based Florida East Coast Industries developed MiamiCentral, which includes retail, 816 apartments in a pair of towers above the station and two office buildings with about 300,000 square feet.
FECI, which also is the parent of the Brightline rail company, has sold the apartment and office buildings over the past couple of years. Patrick Goddard is president of Brightline.
Ella Café | Palm Beach County
Italian coffeehouse Ella Café is expanding to Palm Beach County.
The café leased 2,000 square feet at the Shoppes at Woolbright at 10935 Jog Road in an unincorporated area of the county, where it will open in the third quarter, according to a news release from the tenant’s broker. Ella Café also leased 1,700 square feet at Westlake Palms at 4931 Seminole Pratt Whitney Road in Westlake, where it will open early next year.
Liz Metott of Native Realty represented the tenant.
The coffeehouse’s existing outposts are at 9743 West Broward Boulevard in Plantation, 3890 Davie Road in Davie and 4691 North University Drive in Coral Springs, according to its website.
Records show New York-based Georgetown Company owns Shoppes at Woolbright, and Westlake master developer Minto Communities owns Westlake Palms.
Parlor Doughnuts | Boca Raton
A coffeehouse and craft doughnuts shop will open in Boca Raton.
Parlor Doughnuts leased 1,500 square feet at 11 Plaza Real at The Mark at Cityscape apartment development in Boca Raton, according to a news release from the tenant’s broker. It will open in the second quarter.
Liz Metott and Kaley Tuning of Native Realty represented Parlor Doughnuts.
Monogram Residential Trust bought The Mark in 2015 for $81.7 million, records show. The property owner now is an affiliate of Greystar, which through its funds bought Monogram in 2017, according to a Greystar news release at the time. APG Asset Management, Singaporean sovereign wealth fund GIC and Ivanhoé Cambridge were capital partners on the purchase.
Cesar | Miami
A showroom for kitchen furniture opened in the Miami Design District.
Linea Studio’s Cesar brand opened a 4,000-square-foot flagship store at 4141 Northeast Second Avenue in Miami, according to a Cesar news release. In the same building, Linea also opened a 2,500-square-foot showroom for its Lema brand.
Craig Robins’ Dacra, which developed the Miami Design District, owns the building, records show.
Thom Browne, La DoubleJ and Loewe | Palm Beach
Three luxury retail boutiques are on tap at Royal Poinciana Plaza in Palm Beach.
Thom Browne is already open at 340 Royal Poinciana Way, according to a Royal Poinciana Plaza news release. Next month, Milan-based women’s fashion boutique La DoubleJ will open, marking its first U.S. outpost. Also next month, Spanish luxury fashion store Loewe will open.
The tenants will be at Royal Poinciana Playhouse, with Loewe and Thom Browne moving into permanent spaces at the playhouse from their seasonal boutiques at the plaza, the release says.
Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts-based WS Development has been renovating the playhouse, which has been closed since 2004 and is expected to reopen this year. It will have a 400-seat theater and 12,000 square feet of retail space, the release says.
Other tenants on tap at the playhouse are the 200-seat waterfront Tutto Mare restaurant, and The Innovate, a nonprofit led by Avie and Jill Glazer that will open a cultural arts space.
The square footage La DoubleJ and Loewe leased wasn’t immediately provided. Thom Browne leased 1,500 square feet, Palm Beach Daily News reported.
