Joan Robins sells waterfront Star Island mansion for $39M

Joan Robins, who was married to the late developer Jerry Robins, sold her waterfront Star Island home in Miami Beach more than two years after her husband’s death.

She sold the eight-bedroom, eight-bathroom mansion at 33 Star Island Drive to a Skyred LLC, a Delaware entity that is tied to a land trust, property records show. The deed was recorded for $38.7 million.

The two-story, nearly 11,000-square-foot estate was built in 1937 on a 1.4-acre lot.

Jerry Robins, who died in October 2022, was also survived by his children, Miami Design District developer Craig Robins, Miami Beach developer Scott Robins, broker Stacy Robins and their sister, Gina. The Robins’ children are locked in probate litigation over their late father’s estate. Stacy Robins is also suing Joan, Craig, Scott and Gina Robins in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court, records show.

The Star Island home had been owned by Jerry and Joan Robins for decades.

The Miami Beach island is home to Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Lennar Corporation Executive Chairman Stuart Miller, billionaire LoanDepot founder and CEO Anthony Hsieh and plastic surgeon Leonard Hochstein. Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is in jail awaiting his sex trafficking trial, also owns two properties on Star Island.

The most recent trade on the island was Alex Rodriguez’s sale of the 1-acre lot at 14 Star Island Drive to Citadel founder and CEO Ken Griffin for $45.5 million. Griffin has spent nearly $150 million amassing his portfolio on Star Island.
