Developer Al Adelson and the Morrison family’s Sympatico Real Estate broke ground and launched sales for their planned West Palm Beach condo project.
Shovels hit the dirt and champagne popped at the groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday that doubled as a sales launch for the project, called the Berkeley Palm Beach. After the event at the development’s 1.9-acre site at 601 and 621 Clearwater Park Road, guests were shuttled in golf carts to the sales gallery on the ninth floor of 500 South Australian Avenue, according to a press release.
Prices for the planned 25-story, 193-unit tower range from $2 million to $10 million, a spokesperson confirmed. Floorplans include two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom options, spanning 2,000 square feet to 5,000 square feet, the press release shows. Amenities will include a pool, spa and fitness facilities, a teen room, club room and a private dining room. Arquitectonica is designing the tower, and John Moriarty & Associates of Boston is leading construction. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027.
The tower will be across the street from Clear Lake, West Palm Beach’s inland lake and primary water supply.
Adelson teamed up with Sympatico Real Estate, led by father-son duo Carlos and Thomas Morrison, for the Berkeley. The Morrisons are also partnering with David Martin’s Terra on the planned Mr. C Hotel & Residences West Palm Beach. Last month, the Morrisons dropped $17 million for a 56-unit West Palm Beach apartment complex.
The Berkeley marks Adelson’s second condo project in West Palm Beach. He was the developer of the Bristol, a waterfront luxury condo tower in West Palm Beach. When it was completed in 2019, it was the first new condo tower in the city in a decade. It has since attracted a multitude of high-profile residents, including Motorola heir Christopher Galvin, top attorneys, real estate and beauty moguls.
The West Palm Beach condo market has boomed since the pandemic triggered a massive wealth migration to the area, thrusting the coastal city into a development gold rush. More than 6,600 residential units are in the works in West Palm Beach, including Related Ross’ planned South Flagler House and Shorecrest; Savanna’s Olara; and Related Group’s Ritz-Carlton Residences, West Palm Beach.
