MIAMI – A US Navy sailor from Miramar died March 20th soon after likely overboard in the Pink Sea.

Aviation Machinist’s Mate 2nd Course Oriola Michael Aregbesola, 34, joined the Navy in 2020.

The US Division of Protection said Aregbesola was aboard the USS Mason, his loss of life was not battle-related.

Aregbesola was assigned to the “Swamp Foxes” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 74. The Mason has been operating in the U.S. 5th Fleet since November.

“Petty Officer Aregbesola fully embodied the selfless character and considerate warrior spirit of the United States Navy Sailor,” mentioned Cmdr. Eric Kohut, HSM-74 commanding officer. “His fantastic functionality prior to and during deployment went effectively further than aircraft servicing he really noticed and valued each member of the ship/air crew. He will continue on on in the coronary heart of just about every Swamp Fox and our brothers and sisters in the IKE Carrier Strike Group. Our deepest feelings and prayers are with his spouse and children.”

President Joe Niden deployed the Navy to the Purple Sea after Houthi rebels began attacking industrial ships in solidarity with Hamas.
