MIAMI — Miami-Dade County is terminating its lease settlement with the owners of the Miami Seaquarium.
In its observe of termination with MS Leisure Organization, Inc., and The Dolphin Enterprise — the corporation now running the Seaquarium — the county cited quite a few and substantial violations of the leasing agreement.
“[Leasee’s] extensive and troubling background of violations constitute repeated, continual and longstanding violations of Lessee’s contractual obligations to maintain the Assets in a good state of mend, sustain animals in accordance with relevant regulation and comply with all rules as set forth in Area 11 (as amended) and Part 29 of the Amended and Restated Lease Settlement,” Miami-Dade County said.
