FORT LAUDERDALE – A stabbing led to a law enforcement standoff early Thursday morning in the Grand Palms group of Pembroke Pines.

According to law enforcement, their dispatchers been given a 911 contact about a male who experienced attacked his wife with a knife in a property in the 1400 block of Lacosta Drive. The caller reported the gentleman was locked in the home’s garage.

The couple’s 5 youngsters ended up within the residence at the time of the stabbing.

Police swarmed the space and much more than a dozen law enforcement officers surrounded the couple’s property. The girl and her young children had been safely and securely taken out of the property. The woman was taken to the hospital.

A SWAT staff arrived and suited up though fireplace rescue personnel stood by.

Various roadways were blocked off and motorists were being urged to keep away from the location.

The gentleman remained barricaded in the garage until SWAT customers entered the property and took him into custody. He was then taken to a clinic for treatment method.

Law enforcement mentioned this was an isolated incident and there were being no threats to the local community.
