MIAMI — Miami-Dade Police say they arrested a 57-year-outdated Orlando male right after he led police in two counties on a chase that finished at Miami International Airport on Wednesday morning.
Law enforcement say it all started all over 9:30 p.m. Tuesday when Walter Lee Griggs Jr. broke into Wilson Window Tint at 1860 North Point out Street 7 in Margate and stole many merchandise, which includes a black 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe that belonged to the co-owner of the small business Michael Wilson.
Wilson told CBS Information Miami’s Peter D’Oench that surveillance online video displays Griggs driving up to the enterprise in his have car or truck and then acquiring out, breaking in as a result of a window, and then rummaging via the business for about 90 minutes before leaving with his Tahoe.
He said the surveillance video shows Griggs getting his time all through the 90 minutes he was at the business.
“He broke in as a result of this window and then went by means of several drawers, and went below as a result of the business office and where by the automobiles are,” Wilson said. “He stole a ton of equipment. He took a great deal of window tinting merchandise and stole a bunch of resources and then loaded up the vehicle with two computer systems and a laptop computer.”
“This is sad. This is sad that folks are heading by way of this and men and women are undertaking this to other people today,” He included. “I am not very happy about this and this set us powering and all the things.”
Wilson mentioned he hoped to get well his Tahoe later on in the day. He said he has been in enterprise for 38 decades and nothing like this has ever happened to him right before. The good thing is, law enforcement reported no a single was hurt.
Miramar Police officers from the auto crimes unit noticed the stolen motor vehicle and alerted BSO to help go after the automobile.
The car or truck was witnessed moving into Miami-Dade County, driving on North Miami Avenue, having on to Interstate 95 southbound and speeding by site visitors and then having on the State Highway 112 Expressway heading westbound. The Tahoe bought off the freeway at Lejeune Road and headed to the airport where Miami-Dade Law enforcement arrested Griggs.
Griggs was billed with feeding and eluding legislation enforcement officers and law enforcement reported there were open up warrants for him.
Margate Police stated they are even now investigating this case and extra expenses are expected.
