A new trailer for the future Amy Winehouse biopic “Again to Black” provides a glimpse at the singer’s meteoric increase and daily life powering the scenes before her tragic demise at 27.
The two-moment trailer shows “Marketplace” and “Barbie” star Marisa Abela playing Winehouse in the British singer’s signature beehive hairstyle and winged eyeliner. Winehouse’s 2006 basic “Rehab” performs in excess of scenes exhibiting her gritty early everyday living and interactions absent from the phase. Abela recorded and performs the tracks in the film.
“You need to have to know this,” she says in excess of the cell phone at one position. “I ain’t no Spice Lady.”
The clip reveals the alternately tender and turbulent relationship among Winehouse and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, performed by Jack O’Connell. It also offers a glimpse at actor Eddie Marsan participating in Winehouse’s father, Mitch Winehouse.
The motion picture is named following Winehouse’s 2006 hit album, which gained 5 Grammys. Winehouse died of liquor poisoning in 2011.
“I don’t generate music to be famous,” she says in the trailer. “I compose tracks for the reason that I’ve received to make anything great out of a little something terrible.”
The motion picture, which was directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson (“Fifty Shades of Grey”), is set to be launched on April 12 in the U.K. and on May 17 in the U.S.
