Carl Weathers, a previous NFL linebacker who turned a Hollywood action movie and comedy star, taking part in nemesis-turned-ally Apollo Creed in the “Rocky” flicks, dealing with-off from Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Predator” and teaching golfing in “Happy Gilmore,” has died. He was 76.
Matt Luber, his manager, said Weathers died Thursday. His family members issued a statement declaring he died “peacefully in his rest.”
