MIAMI – At halftime of their recreation Wednesday evening, at the Kaseya Middle, the Miami Heat commemorated Black Heritage Month by honoring 162 Black guys who have been amongst the founding fathers of the Metropolis of Miami.
About 200 adult Black gentlemen created up of Miami Heat players, coaches, staff members, community media personalities, and other folks locked arm in arm at centre courtroom though a spoken word piece was executed.
They manufactured up 44 p.c of the adult males who helped incorporate the town of Miami 128 yrs in the past.
CBS News Miami’s Jim Berry was among the men who took the courtroom at halftime to spend homage to individuals pioneers who laid the groundwork for what Miami has become.
The occasion also commemorated a lesser-known aspect of Miami’s heritage and underscored the importance of voting.
