FORT LAUDERDALE — A tornado reportedly touched down in Downtown Fort Lauderdale on Saturday evening, soon following the National Climate Services issued a tornado warning for the space.
Fort Lauderdale Law enforcement informed CBS News Miami that they ended up assisting Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue with a “weather relevant” incident in the spot of 2500 East Las Olas Blvd. but could not affirm regardless of whether it was connected to a tornado.
According to quite a few movies shared on X (formerly acknowledged as Twitter), a funnel cloud formed higher than downtown Fort Lauderdale and built a touchdown in the region. Some of the videos observed also confirmed the funnel cloud causing some form of explosion as it spun.
CBS Information Miami’s Following Climate crew is operating on confirming the tornado, as their radar did choose up on wind rotation all-around 5:45 p.m. with extreme temperature blowing as a result of the area.
CBS Information Miami has a crew heading to the region to examine even further. Remember to remain protected and indoors, and continue to be tuned to CBS News Miami on the web and on-air as we continue on supplying updates.
