HIALEAH — 5 youthful adults were arrested through two intersection takeover enforcement functions this week in Miami-Dade County.
The Miami-Dade Law enforcement Division announced in a Saturday afternoon press launch that five individuals in between the ages of 18 and 23 ended up arrested and are struggling with drag racing and other linked fees:
- Jearial Garcia, 21, of Margate — aggravated assault of a legislation enforcement officer, brazenly carrying a weapon, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, and drag racing
- Andres Culp, 18, of Plantation — highway drag racing
- Joshua Dalmond, 23, of Miami — drag racing
- Cameron Lomax, 19, of Miramar — drag racing and operating a automobile devoid of a legitimate driver’s license
- Chelsy Gamez, 20, of Miami — passenger associated in freeway drag racing
In accordance to MDPD, all suspects have been involved in intersection takeovers across Northwest Miami-Dade from Dec. 30, 2023, by Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024.
The enforcement operation — which consisted of the Homeland Protection Bureau, Intelligence and Investigations Area, the Priority Response Group, Theft Intervention and North Operations Division uniform patrol models — also led to 16 citations, 1 impounded car, 1 impounded gun and 1 juvenile curfew violation.
On December 30 about 2:15 a.m. at the intersection of Northwest 151st Avenue and Northwest 7th Avenue, a number of automobiles were being blocking the roadway when a hoodless Dodge charger — driven by Dalmond — approached the intersection and began doing donuts in the pit when spectators viewed and recorded for about 10 minutes.
Dalmond then drove to a few other intersection takeovers close by and did additional donuts for spectators, according to the arrest affidavit. Then on the early morning of New Year’s Eve, Dalmond and his car or truck produced two extra appearances at intersection takeovers in the spot. He was later on arrested on January 2 at his property.
Meanwhile at the intersection of Northwest 54th Avenue and Northwest 27th Avenue on January 2 around 2 a.m., Lomax and Gamez made an visual appearance in a white Corvette and drove donuts in the pit of that respective takeover, to which they have been determined by police in an Instagram video clip. They have been arrested on Saturday.
Then on Saturday close to 1:40 a.m., Garcia and Culp were observed earning donuts at the I-75 Park & Trip in Hialeah, driving red Mazda Miata and grey Chevrolet Tahoe, respectively. When unmarked law enforcement motor vehicles approached their group, the spectators and motorists dispersed, leading officers on a brief pursuit prior to their arrests.
