Miami Seashore teen encourages classmates to celebrate Hanukkah with delight


MIAMIHanukkah is the initially main Jewish Vacation because the war broke out amongst Israel and Hamas. In the face of climbing anti-Semitism, just one Miami Beach teenager is encouraging his classmates to celebrate with pleasure. 

Oliver William, 17, is a senior at Miami Beach front Senior Substantial. 

“I have read some people are from time to time frightened to depict their Judaism at our school for the reason that we will not know what could come about, wherever we can be in jeopardy with our long run,” William reported, “and I realize individuals considerations.”

Whilst he understands the fear, he doesn’t give in.

So he went to Rabbi Katz at the Chabad on Lincoln Highway.

Katz also hears the similar issues.

Hannukah is just the reverse of the darkness of war. It is the Jewish holiday break of lights.

This was developed in the opposite way, and that’s really the concept of Hanukkah. Rabbi Katz and William spent time inviting teenagers to be part of them in lighting the menorah on Lincoln Road on night time 1. 

“I purpose to continue to do this throughout my existence, during in which I go to faculty, and during the trajectory of exactly where my existence usually takes me,” William said. “I just I want to enable peace into every person.”

The shell menorah has been there on Lincoln Road for 25 several years. 

They will do general public lights each and every night time for all 8 evenings, and it is open to the community.
