MIAMI – Testimony will resume Friday in a listening to that will figure out the place a Hialeah teenager accused of killing his mom will be held though he awaits trial.
A Miami-Dade Grand Jury indicted the 13-year-aged for initially degree murder which spots his scenario into adult felony courtroom program. He will not be going through the demise penalty.
Attorneys for the 13-calendar year-previous boy want him transferred from an adult jail to the juvenile detention heart.
On Thursday, the teen sat stoic when his recorded confession was played in court docket.
CBS News Miami is not identifying the teen owing to his age.
The murder took place the night time of October 12th.
Police say officers were sent to an condominium in the 200 block of West 79th Location immediately after 911 gained a phone from the teenager who claimed he experienced just killed his mom.
When officers arrived, they identified the human body of 39-yr-previous Irina Garcia in her bed room, it was lying upcoming to a crib with a 14-working day-old baby inside. The infant was not harmed. Police mentioned Garcia had been stabbed many periods.
Investigators have released photographs from inside of the condominium in which the murder happened like a photograph of a very long knife with blood on it.
Police mentioned they had no record with this relatives.
