PEMBROKE PINES — A person was arrested Saturday evening right after allegedly robbing a Broward County pizza retail store at gunpoint ahead of leading law enforcement on a car pursuit and crashing his automobile.
According to a Sunday press release from Pembroke Pines Law enforcement, 34-year-old Jake Ryan Lemanski was arrested and charged with armed theft with a firearm.
All over 10:20 p.m., Lemanski reportedly entered a Minor Caesars at 8902 Taft Avenue, dressed in all-black clothes and a ski mask. He then unveiled a gun and pistol-whipped an personnel in the head as he pushed him toward the hard cash register. Whilst this was going on, Lemanski was demanding dollars.
Lemanski then ran out of the organization with an undetermined total of cash, entered a white motor vehicle and drove absent at superior speeds. According to law enforcement, officers ended up patrolling the spot and discovered Lemanski fleeing the scene. Immediately after a limited pursuit, he crashed into a median wall in the area of County Line Street and the Florida Turnpike.
Luckily, the Minor Caesars worker was not severely wounded during the theft. Lemanski was not injured in the course of the incident but was transported to the hospital for precautionary health-related evaluation thanks to the crash.
Pembroke Pines Police then apprehended Lemanski and transported him to BSO jail.
