The late Matthew Perry nixed a “Pals” storyline that would have place his beloved character in mattress with a different girl, the actor forged as his would-be fling discovered Tuesday.
Perry feared that enthusiasts would “hardly ever forgive” Chandler Bing for cheating on Monica Geller — his on-display enjoy fascination performed by Courteney Cox — according to actor Lisa Funds, who had been tabbed to perform the other woman.
For two days, Money rehearsed the purpose of a Las Vegas lodge worker bringing home company to Chandler, who was upset that Monica had lunch with her former boyfriend Richard, played by Tom Selleck. And in the training course of Chandler pouring his heart out, he was set to cheat on Monica with Cash’s character.
But on the day Cash’s element was likely to be shot, an assistant director told her that the scene — and her function — had been lower, she recalled.
“Matthew Perry reported the audience would never ever forgive him,” Dollars told NBC Information on Tuesday. “Matthew Perry went to the writers and reported the viewers would under no circumstances forgive him (Chandler), which designed a lot of perception.”
“Friends” nonetheless used Cash in that Year 5 episode — “The A person in Vegas: Portion I,” which aired May possibly 20, 1999 — casting her as a flight attendant.
