MIAMI Seashore – On Wednesday, Oct. 11, the Metropolis of Miami Beach front renamed a portion of Meridian Avenue in Celia Cruz’s honor.
The ceremony to unveil Celia Cruz Way took spot at 1755 Meridian Avenue.
“We proudly announce the naming of a Miami Beach front road following the incomparable Celia Cruz,” shared Mayor Dan Gelber. “She brought the world collectively with her tunes, and now her title will for good grace our city as a image of cultural richness.”
Cruz, who was born in Havana, Cuba, recorded far more than 90 albums and music, earning five Grammy Awards in a job that spanned 6 many years.
The Queen of Salsa died 20 many years ago.
