BUENOS AIRES (AP) — Lionel Messi was picked Thursday for Argentina’s future two Planet Cup qualifying matches irrespective of muscular pains that have kept him off the field for two months.
The 36-yr-previous Messi has skipped 5 of Inter Miami’s last 6 matches. The Argentina captain also missed his national team’s 3- earn at Bolivia on Sept. 12.
Messi’s most the latest visual appeal was at his team’s match against Toronto on Sept. 20, in the course of which he was substituted at halftime simply because of muscular pains.
Argentina will encounter Paraguay in Buenos Aires on Oct. 12 and then take a look at Peru five times afterwards.
Argentina and Brazil guide the South American Planet Cup qualifying standings with two wins from two matches.
