Vital West lady arrested just after allegedly biting deputy in the course of DUI arrest


Critical WEST — A female was arrested immediately after allegedly biting a Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy during a DUI investigation Saturday afternoon.

Deborah Bennett Odom, 60, was charged with battery on a legislation enforcement officer and driving below the impact.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Division, MCSO deputies stopped a purple Array Rover SUV around mile marker 82 on US-1 close to 3:15 p.m. following acquiring stories of a reckless driver and observing the car swerving on the freeway.

The driver, recognized as Odom, appeared to be intoxicated and smelled of liquor. She then pulled absent from deputies and attempted to unbuckle her seatbelt whilst inside the patrol car or truck.

Odom was later taken to jail, in which she little bit and kicked a Corrections deputy.
