Sean “Diddy” Combs will acquire the Global Icon Award at the upcoming MTV Online video New music Awards.

“Diddy will obtain the Global Icon Award for his unparalleled job and ongoing impact that has realized unmatched global achievement in new music and past,” reads a push launch about the award.

The Global Icon Award started off at MTV’s Europe Songs Awards and “celebrates an artist or band whose unparalleled job and ongoing influence have reached a one of a kind degree of global accomplishment in music and outside of,” continued the launch.
