2 divers rescued off Essential Largo coast after drifting 50 %-mile away from their boat


Important LARGO — Two divers ended up rescued off the coastline of Vital Largo right after drifting a 50 %-mile absent from their boat on Friday.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, their officers — together with the U.S. Coast Guard and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Fee — were notified of the distress call from Molasses Reef close to 4:37 p.m.

Monroe County’s Sgt. James Hager responded and was to start with on the scene, wherever he identified the two Davie adult men — ages 53 and 19 — about a half mile from their private vessel.

Thankfully, the adult males have been wearing their diving gear and observed in fantastic overall health when Hager noticed them and assisted return them to their boat.
