FORT LAUDERDALE — The helicopter that crashed Monday morning in a Pompano Seaside apartment constructing is a twin-motor chopper that was offered to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office about 10 years ago.

According to a person who used to fly the plane, the county has procured three of the plane but it was not sure how several of them remained in the sheriff’s division fleet.
The previous Broward pilot reported it would surface that an motor malfunction led to the incident but it was not distinct why the plane could not keep aloft with its 2nd engine.

Online video from the scene confirmed a large plume of black smoke and flames coming from the crash website.
