MIAMI – South Florida fourth grader Nico Herrera gained a daily life-changing reward in the kind of a van.
The vehicle was donated by the Woody Basis. Then, several local community corporations came together to increase $20,000 to outfit it just for Nico’s needs.
He even got some more fuel dollars to aid his household get close to to all the locations he wishes to stop by.
Nico, who was identified with spinal muscular atrophy variety 2, uses a wheelchair to get around but didn’t have an available van until finally now.
He employs a electric power chair but ahead of this big shock at Nicklaus Children’s Clinic, he would need to have to be moved to a manual wheelchair whenever he preferred to get in the car with his mother and father.
But not any longer.
Nico tells us he has some rather big designs. “I seriously essential a van just to transfer to everywhere you go with my chair. And what if I go to Orlando just one day? I can use my van. What if I go to Virginia? I can use my van.
It took two years and donations from numerous distinctive businesses to make this happen for the Herrera household.
