MIAMI – A Miami-Dade law enforcement officer located himself on the mistaken facet of the legislation when he bought into an argument with his spouse.
Miramar law enforcement have been despatched to the home of Officer Andres Perez on Thursday, all around 4 p.m., to look at on a report of a domestic dispute.
According to the arrest report, Perez and his wife, who have been with each other for the past eight 12 months and married for the previous three, received into a verbal argument that turned physical above “economical and infidelity difficulties.”
At one place, Perez “stormed into the kitchen in her direction throwing a McDonald’s cheeseburger at her,” according to law enforcement.
He then reportedly struck her in the head with a closed fist.
Perez was taken into custody and has been charged with battery.
“It is disheartening to understand that just one of my officers was arrested for a domestic violence incident, that happened although he was off duty. Police Officers are held to a bigger regular this kind of behavior will not be tolerated. Any steps that may possibly hinder the public’s assurance in legislation enforcement is unacceptable,” Miami-Dade law enforcement Interim Director Stephanie Daniels in a statement.
