Lacking 4-12 months-old Miami-Dade woman is protected, residing with kin in Mexico, police say


MIAMI — A Miami-Dade woman who was the matter of a missing baby warn is harmless and has been residing with her grandparents in Mexico due to the fact late final year, police confirmed to CBS News Miami.

A law enforcement spokesman said images showed Carolina Rodriguez Vizcarra, 4, and her grandparents and all seemed in get.

The Florida Office of Regulation Enforcement issued the lacking kid alert for the female, stating she had previous been witnessed in the space of the 200th block of NW 15th Road in Miami previous December. Which is near the Lotus Dwelling shelter for gals and young children.  

The mother of the female had been accused two several years ago of abandoning her in a hospital.

Authorities explained the girl could be in the corporation of her mother, 34-yr-aged Carolina Vizcarra Olvera.

“Due to an ongoing investigation, the Metropolis of Miami Law enforcement Section thinks Carolina may perhaps be in threat of death or significant bodily injury,” the FDLE assertion said.

In Oct 2021, Vizcarra Olvera reportedly approached an off -duty Miami police officer and a further gentleman at Mercy Medical center all around 10 a.m. and requested if they could watch her two-yr-old daughter while she went to the restroom.

She then reportedly handed the toddler, and the toddler’s Social Security card, to the male and walked away.

According to the incident report, the gentleman followed her and said “You will not have to do this” to which Vizcarra Olvera replied “Go away me by itself” as she left the medical center.

The Miami Police Department’s Special Victims Device took custody of the kid and the Office of Young children and People was notified.

Just right after 5:30 p.m., police gained a contact that Vizcarra Olvera experienced returned to the healthcare facility and was looking for her daughter.

When officers tracked her down she told them “It’s not like I just left her, it can be a hospital and I was fearful for her. I was thinking I am about to snooze on the streets, but not her,” according to the report.

Vizcarra Olvera was arrested and charged with boy or girl abandonment.

So if the girl has not been considering that prior to New Year’s Eve, why did it just take so very long for her to be noted lacking?

Miami law enforcement explained they received affirmation of a court docket get in August that Vizcarra Olvera was in violation of interference of custody.
